When I choose that decision, I knew that everyone would have something to say to it. I know you are going to say I failed and stuff, but I actually took a risk in something that most people wouldn’t even dare to do. I signed a contract, I was part of the 1% in the US who joined the army. But I know I’m part of that percentage that gave up in that 1% because the army is seriously not for everyone.
Don’t judge me if you haven’t even been in my shoes. You didn’t even experience what I experience in my shoes, so why do you have the right to say something about me ?
This experience was not a waste, I learned so much stuff from Basic Training and so much stuff about myself. I learned that I can conquer my fears. I can run farther and longer than I thought. I learned how to manage my time wisely. I learned to never give up and false motivation is the best motivation out there. I learned discipline, and to cherish what I have because I am very fortunate. I learned how to clean and wash clothes, basically I learned to live without relying on someone else. :)
It was like survival of the fittest, I may not have survived but I’m glad I got to experience Basic Training.
